Society is changing. Demographics are changing. We are all living longer, healthier lives. As a society we are only just starting to wake up to the potential of this new age – an age where challenges are shared across generations and opportunities are no longer bound by how old you are. A new era, where age doesn’t matter.
This September we’re hosing a festival to champion this change. Our festival, ‘Age Does Not Matter’, will will disrupt the current narrative around ageing.
You should be there. Age Does Not Matter will attract a large and diverse group of attendees, from all backgrounds and all sectors of society - business leaders, creative thinkers, policymakers, academics, third-sector organisations and members of the general public. Across the four days we will be joined by over 750 people who, together, will help change the conversation, change mindsets, and shape the products, services and society of the future.

The festival will achieve three things.
- We’ll bring together designers, citizens, brands, government and organisations to share thoughts about how to make the most of the future.
- We’ll share exclusive research findings on age across ten key sectors.
- We’ll run design labs to create real world solutions to the burning questions that are arising from this demographic shift.
We are allowing just a few forward thinking brands to headline each of the sectors, and help to pioneer a stronger intergenerational future. Join us now.

Through an inspirational series of co-design labs, talks, installations, photography, stories, sound and films, and in the stunning setting of The OXO Bargehouse on London’s South Bank, we will disrupt the current narrative around ageing.
Day 1 & 2 – Wednesday 28 & Thursday 29 September
A series of ten, sector-specific Co-Design Labs will build on The Age of No Retirement proprietary research and explore the tensions and similarities that exist across the generations. Driven by designers, innovators and pioneers. Open to the public.
Day 3 – Friday 30 September
On the third day we are partnering with Creative Review and the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design at the Royal College of Art, to build a new blueprint for intergenerational design that all organisations can use. This event is invite only and closed to the public, but we will keep you posted on all the developments that happen.
Day 4 – Saturday 1 October
On the last day of the festival, the Bargehouse will become a fashion show for all ages. We are bringing together journalists and opinion formers to challenge stereotypes and celebrate age in all its fashion and beauty splendour. Open to the public.
