The Common Room is a brand new concept in intergenerational thinking. It is somewhere where younger and older come together in a dynamic space full of inspiration, energy and purpose. It is where human connection, collaboration and the power of “together” thrive. The Common Room enables people to (re)discover their purpose and reach new goals in life, whatever their age.
We need to raise the £20,000 to open the very first Common Room - to pay for painting and decorating, chairs, tables, pens, paper, workshop equipment, and for early operational costs like marketing, a basic website, and some PR.
Help us help people, communities and the world find their purpose. This is about all of us. Pledge now.
"When we insist on categorising people as either young or old, we create falsely conflicting camps for attention and action."
— Pattie Moore
The Age of No Retirement is the world’s leading authority on intergenerational thinking. Our vision is for a world where our age does not define us, or the opportunities available to us — whether we are 1 or 101 and all the ages in between.
We are successfully building the ‘business case’ of an age-neutral, intergenerational, and ultimately united, society. The divide between the young and the old reinforces age and ageing being an issue. Instead, we focus on the opportunities that longer lives offer all of us. We concentrate on what we share in common across all ages, and create new solutions to everyone’s benefit — for citizens, workers and businesses.
We adopt age-inclusive, open-innovation design processes. We conduct inclusive, human-centred research. And, we develop new strategies and solutions to help businesses as well as communities realise the benefits of an age-inclusive way of thinking and intergerational action.
The future is people-centric and post demographic, in other words, age-neutral and intergenerational. Get in touch to find out more on how we are helping business leaders, community leaders, citizens and workers see the real social and economic benefit of older + younger.
There are so many ways to get involved. Some require a little
time and energy such as leading a prototype but others are as easy as
signing up to our newsletter or voting on your favourite idea, in our
crowdsourcing platform, The Age of Action. Age isn't something that just
happens to other people, so it's in all of our interests to get
involved and create a long and fulfilling life.
